Tea is the second most popular drink in the world after water. It made from cured or fresh leaves, buds or stem of tea plant (tea tree) native to the borderlands of north Burma and southwestern China. All kinds of tea (English, Chinese, Japanese, Indian etc.) is made from one species of tea tree (academically called 'Camellia Sinensis').
In Japan, tea was introduced by Buddhist monks around 1200 years ago from China. At the time, tea was extremely valuable and for only a limited number of people such as monks and the aristocracy.
Japanese teas have many varieties like Matcha, Gyokuro, Sencha and Hojicha, but I would like to start with Sencha.
